Health & Safety
Our Health and Safety specialists have provided much effort to improve and maintain a safe site for your enjoyment but your help is also necessary so please familiarise yourselves with the following before visiting the event:
Do
- acquaint yourself with the site layout, note signs for exits and facilities such as First Aid Centre
- avoid congested areas, returning later when fewer people are present
- keep a lookout for children, elderly and disabled person and assist them whenever necessary
- listen and follow instructions from members of the Emergency Services and site Stewards
- keep entrances, exits and pathways clear
- take extreme care in the gardens to avoid damage to its infrastructure – it has great heritage value
- wear sunscreen and drink plenty of water
Do Not
- throw litter – place it in a bin instead
- panic – keep calm and contact a Mela Steward to inform them of any hazards
- smoke or take alcohol while outside designated areas
- stand near loudspeakers or any other noisy environment
- go anywhere where hazardous substances may be stored
- behave in an aggressive or unruly manner
- expose yourself to unnecessary risks
If you encounter any problems during your stay at the Mela, please keep calm
inform any site Steward first
